Arvesta
Fertile ground for digital transformation: cultivating customer engagement
Arvesta is an expert in agriculture, horticulture, animal feed, flour and machinery. With 200 garden centers across Belgium, 2,000 employees, and more than 40 strong brands, it is Belgium’s largest full-service partner for farmers and growers. Now, thanks to SQLI, the company is also making major strides in customer engagement.
Arvesta had a clear goal in mind: to turn more website visitors into actual customers. To achieve that, it needed a partner with a proven track record in customer experience and strong expertise with the headless CMS platform Contentful. Enter SQLI.
“Thanks to our earlier successful collaboration on social media, SQLI was immediately on the shortlist,” says Laura Decremer, IT Director Commercial. “In the end, their proven expertise and the strong impression they made during the selection process, tipped the scales in their favor.”
The project
For Arvesta, SQLI built a solution that allows visitors to create a profile to gain access to restricted content and receive relevant notifications. Through a central login environment, built with OutSystems and connected to Azure B2C (which Arvesta uses for B2C, B2B, and B2F applications), users can indicate their interests, such as animal feed or agriculture, which are then stored centrally in Arvesta’s consent and preference platform.
Based on these preferences, content managers in Contentful can restrict access to specific content and set up targeted alerts for defined audiences. These alerts are sent automatically via WhatsApp or email, using SAP CPI as the integration layer and Twilio as the communication platform. Examples include: “Aphids detected in your region, use product X now to prevent damage” or “New feed advice available for dairy cattle, view the report here.”
The result is a targeted communication, more value for the user, and a structured approach to better understand and eventually convert previously unknown visitors.
It never felt like client versus supplier, but like one team working toward the same goal.
One team, one goal
Deadlines were tight, but there was always enough space to adapt together. “This wasn’t a walk in the park,” Laura says, “but everyone was committed to building something strong together. We never felt like just another client. It really felt like one team, with one shared goal. And that’s what makes a project like this successful in my view.”
For Miriam, the real difference came from the way the team worked together. “We challenged each other, but we also spoke up when something wasn’t realistic,” she explains. “Everyone was easy to reach, responses came quickly, and the team atmosphere was great throughout.”
No quick-and-dirty shortcuts, just a solid, well-thought-out system.
